Katy Perry Gets Stuck in Giant Plastic Bottle at Concert
Sometimes, a concept looks great on paper, but when put into action, it can go spectacularly wrong in ways no one anticipated. Other times, an idea seems so flawed from the outset that you wonder how it ever got the green light. Katy Perry’s recent performance, where she entered an inflatable tube and was launched into the crowd, definitely falls into the latter category.
Last week, Katy Perry took the stage at the Isle of MTV Malta concert in Floriana, Malta, delivering a set filled with her greatest hits. However, one particular moment during her rendition of “I Kissed a Girl” caught everyone’s attention and quickly went viral. Perry jumped into a giant inflatable plastic bottle, intending for the audience to pass her around before she returned to the stage. Unfortunately, that’s not quite how it played out, as seen in the footage.
Eyewitnesses reported that Perry was tossed around in her bottle for several minutes, with fans seemingly reluctant to roll her back to the stage. It was clear she struggled to maintain her balance as the bottle swayed. To add to the chaos, a record-breaking heatwave was sweeping through Malta at the time, making the inside of that plastic bottle likely sweltering and uncomfortable.
Eventually, Perry made it back to the stage and, according to reports, resumed her performance without any further issues. The event is set to air globally on MTV in September, and it will be interesting to see how much focus is given to the inflatable bottle incident.
