Former Call of Duty Hacker Returns, Disrupting Black Ops 2 on PlayStation
For the past week, players diving into the newly released Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 ports on PlayStation have been sounding the alarm about a notorious hacker from the franchise’s history making a comeback. The situation has escalated to the point where gamers are advising others to steer clear of Black Ops 2 until developers can patch a serious exploit that locks players out of multiplayer.
A video from years ago showcases C Isn’t Sharp, a well-known hacker, manipulating leaderboards in the original Black Ops 2. While it’s tough to determine exactly when C Isn’t Sharp resurfaced, it remains unclear if this hacker is operating solo, though some community members suspect they are. Recently, reports of encounters with this hacker in matches and lobbies have surged. Clips circulating online depict C Isn’t Sharp allegedly eliminating everyone in a game, while others claim their XP and profiles have been maxed out to the point of being unable to play online.
Evidence of C Isn’t Sharp wreaking havoc in the Black Ops 2 port is spreading, with reports of accounts being bricked and stats reset.
If you see “Who isn’t sharp” in bright letters join your BO2 lobby, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY!!!
Some players have shared screenshots displaying a hacked, multi-colored message that reads:
Hi there! Enjoy! Much love from you know who… Welcome2802. Brought to you by Activision!! The best comp! Complete wowa EZZZZZZZZZZ
The situation has become dire enough that players are actively warning others against jumping into Black Ops 2 multiplayer. Numerous alerts can be found on forums advising players to shut off their consoles if they encounter “Who isn’t sharp” in their lobby or match to avoid having their accounts compromised.
The number of players avoiding Black Ops 2 on PlayStation has grown so much that some are posting questions like, “Hey, why can’t I find a match online?” The game has turned into a ghost town for many, largely due to the presence of C Isn’t Sharp or similar hackers using variations of that name. For a lot of players, seeing that name reappear in Call of Duty matches has led to concerns that Black Ops 2 will remain plagued by hacks.
As of now, the developers have yet to officially respond to the surge of XP exploits and other hacks attributed to C Isn’t Sharp and other alleged hackers in Black Ops 2.
