Deadpool Unleashes Super Saiyan Power in Final Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Trailer

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is just around the corner, set to launch on August 6, and Arc System Works has dropped a final trailer to build excitement. This video highlights the main storyline, where the Champion of the Universe organizes a tournament to determine the fate of Earth. It revisits previously announced features, including a narrative crafted by comic writer Kieron Gillen and a roster of 20 playable characters.

In the trailer, we get a closer look at Deadpool, who delivers a flurry of fourth-wall-breaking quips, poking fun at the chaotic four-versus-four gameplay that fills the screen with action. At one point, he strikes a Dragon Ball power-up pose that echoes Cell’s iconic intro from Dragon Ball FighterZ, also developed by Arc System Works. Additionally, we see Battle Arcadia, a party-game-style side mode reminiscent of the Grand Bruise from Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. Overall, the trailer showcases the game’s stunning visual style, blending comic book and anime aesthetics seamlessly.

This trailer follows a beta weekend for Marvel Tokon that left the fighting game community with mixed feelings. While the animation, soundtrack, and overall style received widespread acclaim, Arc System Works’ interpretation of Magik stood out as the most popular character among the 16 fighters available for testing. Players appreciated the unique abilities of the roster.

On the downside, the PC port faced significant issues, running poorly even on capable machines and causing problems during online play. Many players criticized the sluggish combat feel, with character movements and attacks lacking the speed typically found in tag fighting games. Although Arc System Works has committed to resolving the PC port’s problems, time is running short with the game’s release just a week away.

Players quickly discovered both the highs and lows of this highly anticipated fighting game.
