Spider-Man: Brand New Day Leak Goes Viral with Millions of Views

A bootleg version of Spider-Man: Brand New Day surfaced on X for more than seven hours before it was taken down. During that time, it reached over 5.9 million accounts and garnered more than 143,000 likes. While other accounts have attempted to share the leaked film, none have managed to stay up for long, as Disney has been quick to issue takedown requests.

Despite the leak, it’s unlikely to hinder the film’s box office success, which is already breaking records. It pulled in $72 million during previews this week, surpassing the previous record of $60 million set by Avengers: Endgame in 2019. Endgame went on to achieve incredible numbers for its opening weekend, raking in over $1.2 billion globally and more than $350 million in the US. Currently, Spider-Man: No Way Home holds the second spot on the all-time US opening weekend list with $260 million.

Brand New Day has the potential to challenge Endgame, although it faces a tough road ahead. With previews and opening day combined, it has already made $168 million, putting it ahead of Endgame’s $157.4 million. Sony is being cautious with its projections, estimating that the latest Spider-Man film will earn around $325 million.
