Pokémon Legends: Z-A Takes a Bold New Turn This Week
Pokémon Legends: Z is shaking up its online battling format with each new season. Recently, Season 13 banned all legendary and mythical Pokémon from Ranked Battles, while Season 14 limited teams to only Flying-type Pokémon.
As we gear up for Season 15, which kicks off in just a few days, there’s another twist: this time, only Water-type Pokémon will be allowed. Trainers can use Water-types from both the base game and the Mega Dimension DLC’s Pokédex.
Here’s the complete list of eligible Pokémon from the Lumiose Pokédex:

While it seems you’ll likely be limited to one Kyogre on your team, this hasn’t been officially confirmed by the developers. Regardless, all Pokémon will be set to level 50 for the online battles, so individual levels won’t play a role.
In Pokémon Legends: Z’s Ranked Battles, four trainers face off using the game’s unique real-time mechanics. You’ll field a team of three Pokémon and earn points for each opponent’s Pokémon you knock out. Just like in the base game, Mega Evolving your Pokémon will be crucial for securing victory.
Season 15 will offer rewards similar to previous seasons, including Fresh Water and various Feathers. As in Season 14, you can earn Greninjite, Delphoxite, Chesnaughtite, Baxcalibrite, Sceptilite, Swampertite, and Blazikenite stones by ranking up from Rank Y to Rank S.
You can start battling with your Water-type team when Season 15 launches on August 6, running until August 27. Additionally, Pokémon Pokopia is diving into the water theme this month with its first DLC expansion, Bubbly Base, releasing on August 5.
A small detail in Pokémon Pokopia actually reflects some deep development lore.
