Lenovo Googlebook Unveils New Laptop and 2-in-1 Tablet Designs

Lenovo is gearing up to unveil some of the first Googlebook models later this year, and recent leaks have provided a sneak peek at their design. Images that have surfaced show a laptop and a 2-in-1 tablet, both prominently featuring Googlebook branding on the keyboard.

This is the clearest look we’ve had at Google’s Chromebook successor since the announcement of the Android-based Googlebook platform back in May. While details are still limited, it’s confirmed that Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo are set to launch the initial models in Fall 2026. Notably, Googlebooks are expected to move away from ChromeOS, introducing a new operating system, with Gemini AI integrated throughout the devices.

The leaked Lenovo designs bear a resemblance to the current Chromebook lineup, with some distinct differences. The Lenovo Googlebook laptop is anticipated to come in two sizes and features a light strip on the back, reminiscent of the glowing bar seen in the official Googlebook renders released earlier this year. The 2-in-1 tablet also sports a light bar on the rear camera housing, similar to the glowing orb expected on the upcoming Pixel 11 series.

The keyboards are equipped with a new key on the bottom row that showcases Google’s “G” branding. Reports suggest this is a dedicated hardware key for accessing Gemini, alongside a Quick Insert button replacing the traditional cap lock key—an innovation that first appeared on Chromebooks in 2024.
