What’s Going On with Mario Lopez?
For reasons that are hard to comprehend, actor and TV host Mario Lopez shared a bizarre AI-generated video featuring his 19-year-old niece, Kalia Wong, devouring multiple hot dogs. The clip took a strange turn as she leaned forward, causing mustard to fly out of her mouth, prompting a collective “WTF?” from the internet before Lopez deleted the post.
On August 2, Lopez and Kalia attended a Los Angeles Dodgers game. Known for his role in *Saved by the Bell* and as the host of *Access Hollywood*, Lopez shared various videos and photos from the game. However, one particular video stood out—it was created using Grok’s video AI tools and depicted Kalia eating three hot dogs while smearing mustard on her face, all while Lopez exclaimed, “Oh my god, look at you! You’re a mess, the mustard!” He captioned the video with, “I can’t take my niece anywhere!”
The video quickly drew criticism for its unsettling nature, especially given that it featured his niece. Shortly after posting, Lopez removed the video, but it had already been seen by many, including journalist Yashar Ali, who shared a recording of it online. Reactions were overwhelmingly negative, with many labeling the clip as creepy and inappropriate.
In his latest Twitter post, Lopez shared a video of himself boxing, claiming he was training to intimidate his daughter’s future boyfriends. The comments on that post were filled with users calling him a “creepy uncle” and hurling insults.
“More like prepping for getting the shit kicked out of you by your own relatives, you creepy weirdo,” one user commented.
“Really gonna just pretend like you didn’t post some creepy shit? Really?” another user added.
Lopez has yet to provide any explanation for why he thought sharing the AI-generated video was a good idea or what prompted him to create it in the first place. It seems he might be hoping to move past the incident without addressing it. Good luck with that, dude.
