Palworld Online MMO Set to Launch in Under Four Months
Garena, the Singapore-based developer behind Free Fire, has just unveiled Palworld Online, a revamped MMO version of Palworld created in partnership with Pocketpair. This new iteration aims to capture the essence of the original PC game and is set to launch on Android and iOS later this year.
According to a recent press release, Palworld Online is expected to arrive within the next four months. However, the details provided are somewhat ambiguous, and the absence of promotional images or trailers makes it challenging to determine if this is a completely new game or merely a mobile adaptation.
The press release mentions that Palworld Online will “reimagine the depth, freedom, and scale of the original PC survival creature-collecting title for mobile.” This suggests it could be a fresh experience rather than just a port. Yet, Terry Zhao, President at Garena, emphasizes that the team is “focused on preserving the depth, immersion, and freedom that define Palworld, while thoughtfully optimizing the experience for mobile play,” which leans towards it being a mobile port.
The “key features” section highlights that Palworld Online will include an “original story” and “unique lore,” along with “new side stories created exclusively for this version” of the game. The repeated mention of “version” and the emphasis on mobile optimization hint that it might be a blend of a port and a new game, but that remains speculative.
With less than five months left in the year, we can anticipate more information about the game to surface very soon.
