Debate Rages Over Whether This Fix for Marvel Tōkon on PC Actually Works
Marvel Tōkon players on PC are divided on whether a peculiar workaround for the game’s poor performance is actually effective. The odd fix involves opening the Epic Games Store and keeping it running before launching Marvel Tōkon, which some players claim enhances the game’s performance.
It sounds absurd, and honestly, it’s hard to believe that simply opening the Epic Games Store could influence a game’s performance. Yet, numerous users on various platforms have reported that this method seems to alleviate some, if not all, of their issues with Marvel Tōkon.
On the flip side, there are plenty of players who have found no improvement at all from this approach, suggesting that those who report better performance might just be experiencing a placebo effect.
I decided to test it out myself, and surprisingly, I noticed a slight difference. While it wasn’t a massive change, I did experience minor FPS boosts and, oddly enough, less strain on my CPU.
That said, I can’t confidently attribute these improvements solely to having the Epic Games Store open, as other factors—like repeatedly restarting the game for testing—could also be at play.
It’s unfortunate that Marvel Tōkon players on PC are resorting to these makeshift, unverified solutions just to get a smoother experience. It’s hard to fathom how the PC version was deemed ready for release in its current state, especially considering the performance issues that were highlighted during the beta testing phase remain unresolved.
