Fortnite Offers Free Control Skin to Millions of Players

Remedy Entertainment’s Control hit the scene in 2019, and now, after more than seven years, fans are gearing up for a sequel. Control Resonant is set to launch on September 24, 2026. This time, players will step into the shoes of Dylan Faden, Jesse’s brother, who wields a formidable shapeshifting weapon known as the Aberrant. Mastering its various forms will be crucial for combat and survival in the world of Control Resonant.

To celebrate the upcoming release, a Dylan Faden skin will be available in Fortnite. Players who buy Control Resonant on the Epic Games Store will receive this skin for free starting August 26 at 12 a.m. EST, just a day before the seventh anniversary of Control. This offer will remain available indefinitely, allowing players to purchase Control Resonant later and still claim the skin.

The skin won’t be exclusive to Epic Games Store buyers; it will also be available for purchase in the Item Shop at a later date, likely coinciding with the game’s launch. When it becomes available, the Dylan Faden skin will be priced at 1,500 V-Bucks. If players buy the skin from the shop first and later qualify for the free offer, they will receive a one-time refund of 1,500 V-Bucks. However, if they decide to refund the game, they will lose both the Dylan Faden skin and the V-Bucks from their Fortnite locker.

Control Resonant aims to innovate while staying true to the essence of the original Control. According to insights from a hands-on preview, the game promises to deliver a unique experience reminiscent of Devil May Cry, with the streets of Manhattan offering a strange and captivating atmosphere akin to The Oldest House. It seems that a full-fledged action RPG can still capture the spirit of Control, instilling confidence in fans as they await the game’s release. For those interested in the series, there’s still ample time to dive into Control before Resonant arrives.
