Paizo’s Entire Library Arrives on DriveThruRPG for a Compelling Purpose
DriveThruRPG stands as the premier destination for digital tabletop role-playing game copies, offering an easy way to purchase PDFs of titles like Daggerheart, The One Ring, and the Cosmere RPG. The platform has a longstanding collaboration with Paizo, featuring works from independent creators for its Pathfinder and Starfinder settings, akin to its arrangement with Wizards of the Coast for Dungeons & Dragons supplements. Recently, Paizo’s entire official catalog is set to be available on DriveThruRPG, which is a boon for gamers seeking convenience but also highlights the significant challenges the publisher is currently facing.
In January 2025, Paizo’s previous distributor, Diamond Comics, filed for bankruptcy, leaving the publisher without access to $10 million worth of books intended for major retailers like Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The exclusive contract with Diamond hindered Paizo from securing a new distributor while legal issues were ongoing. As a result, the company suffered nearly $2 million in losses in 2025 and had to lay off 12 employees in June to cut operating costs. Additionally, Paizo reduced its distribution of free PDFs and scaled back investments in organized play products and virtual tabletop support.
With its retail operations in disarray, Paizo launched a new website in November to facilitate direct purchases of physical and digital products from the publisher. The partnership with DriveThruRPG presents another chance to boost sales during this critical period. Over 1,200 Pathfinder and Starfinder titles will be available, with the latest official books from both games joining the existing library of Pathfinder and Starfinder Infinite Marketplace products. In the upcoming months, DriveThruRPG will also start offering Paizo print titles and enable customers to sync their Paizo and DriveThruRPG accounts for seamless access to PDFs across both platforms.
“Expanding our partnership with DriveThruRPG makes it easier for more players to discover and enjoy Pathfinder and Starfinder,” said Paizo CEO Jim Butler. “We’re excited to bring decades of Paizo releases to the DriveThruRPG community, with even more options ahead.”
With any luck, the publisher will bounce back from the Diamond Comics fallout quickly and continue delivering fantastic RPG products to its dedicated fanbase.
