PS Plus Game Catalog Delivers an Impressive Lineup This Month

August has kicked off with an exciting update to the PlayStation Plus Games Catalog, bringing a slew of popular titles to the service throughout the month. The highlight? The highly anticipated co-op shooter, Helldivers 2, is set to launch on PS Plus Extra and Premium later today for PS5.

On August 12, the next wave of PS Plus Extra and Premium games was officially revealed, but keep in mind that not all titles will be available immediately. To help you plan your gaming sessions, we’ve included the release dates for each game below.

This month is shaping up to be one of the best for the PS Plus Game Catalog in quite a while. Typically, there are one or two standout games that catch my eye, but this time, the lineup is packed with titles I’m eager to dive into. Helldivers 2 is a fantastic addition that’s sure to attract a lot of new players to the sci-fi shooter genre. Additionally, the catalog will feature Metro Exodus, Vampire Survivors, and Two Point Museum—three games I’ve enjoyed and am excited to have on PS5. Plus, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Hell Is Us, which I’ve been wanting to explore for some time, are also making their way to the catalog.

It feels like this month’s impressive selection might be a strategic move by Sony to bring back players after announcing the discontinuation of physical games in 2028. It’ll be interesting to see how this strategy plays out.

To access, download, and play these titles, you’ll need to be an active subscriber to the PS Plus Extra or Premium tiers, as the Essential tier does not include the game catalog. If your subscription lapses, you won’t be able to play these games until you resubscribe.
