KPop Demon Hunters Joins Criterion Collection with a Stunning Release
The announcement back in February about the physical release of KPop Demon Hunters has fans buzzing, and now there are exciting new details about what to expect from this highly anticipated edition.
First off, the stunning cover art is sure to catch your eye. Created by Ami Thompson, it features HUNTR/X members Rumi, Mira, and Zoey ready for action, weapons drawn, against a backdrop of geometric patterns that reflect the film’s mystical barrier, the Honmoon. This release will include a 4K UHD disc with Dolby Vision HDR, along with two Blu-rays packed with the film and special features.
Speaking of special features, fans can look forward to a feature-length animatic introduced by directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, a brand-new making-of documentary, and two insightful video essays by Taylor Ramos and Tony Zhou. Plus, the disc will include a trailer for KPop Demon Hunters and lyric videos for each of the film’s songs. Accessibility is also a priority, with English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing and English descriptive audio included.
On the collectible side, fans will receive several postcards featuring original illustrations from the film’s artists, along with a physical essay by critic Karen Han.
Mark your calendars for the release on Nov. 3, 2026, but you can pre-order now. The three-disc 4K + Blu-ray set is priced at $39.96, the two-disc Blu-ray set at $31.96, and the two-disc DVD set at $23.96. KPop Demon Hunters will join the ranks of other Netflix titles in this collection, including acclaimed films like Roma, The Irishman, The Power of the Dog, Marriage Story, and Frankenstein.
Could this be setting the stage for a prequel?
