Marvel Unveils the Cast for the X-Men Reboot in the MCU
After a lengthy series of legal disputes, multiverse antics, and Jean Grey’s official introduction in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the cast for the MCU’s take on the X-Men has finally been revealed.
This announcement was made during a recent Disney presentation, confirming several casting rumors that had been making the rounds for months. Sadie Sink will reprise her role as Jean Grey, making a strong impression in Brand New Day, while Kit Connor and Samara Weaving have been officially cast as Cyclops and Emma Frost, respectively.
Joining the previously announced actors are Inde Navarrette, known for her breakout role in Obsession, who will portray Rogue, Broadway talent Maya Boyd as Storm, and Christopher Abbott from Girls as Professor X. Adam Driver from Star Wars will take on the role of the villain Mr. Sinister. However, there are still some key X-Men characters yet to be confirmed. There’s no news on Wolverine, Magneto, or any members of the Brotherhood of Mutants. It will be intriguing to see if these characters will be introduced later or if the film will focus more on the ideological conflict between Professor X and Magneto. Given that Hugh Jackman has defined the role of Wolverine for over two decades, Marvel may take their time before casting a new actor for this iconic character.
The X-Men are making their way to the MCU:
Sadie Sink is Jean Grey
Kit Connor is Cyclops
Christopher Abbott is Professor Charles Xavier
Samara Weaving is Emma Frost
Inde Navarrette is Rogue
Maya Boyd is Storm
Adam Driver is Nathaniel Milbury
Mark your calendars for May 5, 2028, when the X-Men reboot hits theaters, directed by Jake Schreier, known for his work on Thunderbolts.
