Hayden Panettiere, the talented actress recognized for her roles in television series like Heroes and Nashville, as well as her work in games such as Until Dawn and Kingdom Hearts, has tragically passed away at the age of 36.
Her father, Skip Panettiere, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement: “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen. We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.”
The official cause of her death has yet to be disclosed.
Panettiere’s journey in the entertainment industry began at a young age, starting with commercials when she was just 11 months old and landing a role in the soap opera One Life to Live at the age of 4. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of superpowered cheerleader Claire Bennett in NBC’s Heroes and as the aspiring country music star Juliette Barnes in Nashville. Her filmography includes notable titles like Remember the Titans, Scream 4, and Scream 6.
In addition to her on-screen roles, Panettiere was a skilled voice actor, contributing to projects like Pixar’s A Bug’s Life and several video games, including PlayStation titles The Mark of Kri and Until Dawn. She was also a key voice in the Kingdom Hearts series, lending her talents to characters Kairi and Xion in the original game and its sequels, including Kingdom Hearts 2, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
Earlier this year, she published a memoir titled This Is Me: A Reckoning, where she reflected on her Hollywood career and candidly discussed her battles with postpartum depression, addiction and recovery, body dysmorphia, and domestic abuse.
