Fortnite’s Latest ‘Free’ Star Wars Skin Could Be Its Priciest Offering Yet

Fortnite and Disney are teaming up once more to introduce fresh Star Wars content, and this time, the cosmetics are even more exclusive. Epic Games has unveiled the Forsworn Trooper skin and the method to obtain it this weekend, which involves a visit to Galaxy’s Edge.

Players who experience the Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run attraction at two Disney parks will be eligible to unlock the Forsworn Trooper skin in Fortnite. Additionally, they can explore the Smugglers Gambit creative island in Fortnite to earn a free loading screen themed around the franchise.

The Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is located at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, California. Before hopping on the ride, Fortnite players need to use their Disneyland or MyDisney app to accept a mission from Hondo Ohnaka. The app will recognize their presence on the ride and mark their account as eligible for the Fortnite reward.

By linking their MyDisney and Epic Games accounts, players will receive the Forsworn Trooper skin the next time they log into Fortnite. For those unable to claim the in-game rewards for any reason, an email with a code for the skin will be sent. However, there’s a significant catch: the skin is region-locked and can only be claimed by accounts from Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Players from other regions will not be able to obtain the skin, even if they try to connect their accounts or redeem the code. This limitation is disappointing, as not all fans visiting the park will have access to the free skin.

For those at home, players can join the Smugglers Gambit island in Fortnite and assist Ohnaka to earn a free loading screen. To access Smugglers Gambit, they need to enter the island code 7474-2686-2725 in the Discover tab. Players who have visited the park can then go to Hondo’s docking bay to speak with him and start his quest. The expiration date for these offers is currently unknown, so eligible players should act quickly to claim them.

Regardless of park visits, everyone can participate in a Fortnite livestream on Twitch from Aug. 16 to Aug. 21 to earn Smugglers Gambit rewards. All players need to do is watch a Fortnite content creator in the Drops Enabled category. After watching for 15 minutes, they will receive the At Your Service! spray, and after 30 minutes, the Hunk of Junk emoticon.

This collaboration is just one of many between Fortnite and Disney, and it’s likely to expand further, especially with Disney’s substantial $1.5 billion investment in Epic Games.

Recent leaks hint that a highly sought-after franchise may finally be making its debut in Fortnite.
