New Gameplay Footage of GTA 6 Surfaces Before Netflix’s Official Announcement

Netflix is gearing up to showcase an extended preview of Grand Theft Auto 6 on August 27, but eager fans don’t have to hold their breath until then. A fresh gameplay leak has surfaced, giving a glimpse into the immersive world of Rockstar Games’ Florida-inspired adventure.

This unofficial leak sheds light on some intriguing game mechanics and the impressive attention to detail that Rockstar is pouring into GTA 6.

The circulating clip is just a minute long, and some visuals suggest it may be from an earlier version of the game. In the footage, co-protagonist Jason is seen relaxing at his home, soaking in the ocean breeze. It appears that GTA 6 will allow players to take a moment to unwind and enjoy the environment.

Shortly into the clip, Jason picks up a basketball and starts shooting hoops. When he scores, a sound reminiscent of collecting a coin in a platformer plays, and he earns “Focus” points for his shot. Players can dribble while walking and throw the ball in various arcs. Toward the end of the video, the basketball rolls into a body of water, which reacts in a lifelike manner. If this is what GTA 6 looks like in its current state, the final product is sure to be impressive.

The leaked gameplay also reveals a bit more of the HUD, which features a contextual stamina meter and two types of in-game currency. One appears to be a wallet, likely representing Jason’s personal funds, while the other seems tied to his home, possibly akin to the camp funds in Red Dead Redemption 2. Interestingly, the video does not display any button icons, leaving the specific version of the game in question unclear.

The clip was shared by a group known as Cyberleek, though the origins of the footage and the group’s nature remain uncertain. The clip suggests visiting Cyberleek’s website for more content, but it seems there’s no additional footage available, so it might be wise to skip the site.

Grand Theft Auto fans can look forward to a more extensive and official look at GTA 6 later this month when Rockstar and Netflix unveil their preview on August 27.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on November 19.
