Polaroid Launches Pokémon Collection to Preserve Memories, Not Just Pikachus

Polaroid has unveiled an exciting new lineup of cameras, instant film, and accessories, all featuring limited-edition designs to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Pokémon. This collection takes a bolder approach compared to Fujifilm’s Pokémon collaboration from five years ago, introducing Polaroid film adorned with various characters around the frames, including fan favorites like Pikachu and Snorlax. Preorders for the entire collection will kick off on August 25th in the US, Canada, and the UK via the Polaroid and Pokémon Center websites, with a global release set for October 5th.

The collection features three existing camera models, each sporting fresh designs. The compact Polaroid Go Gen 3, priced at $99.99, comes in a vibrant yellow inspired by Pikachu or a pink-and-blue variant themed around Sylveon. The more premium Polaroid Now Gen 3, retailing for $139.99, showcases a striking red-and-white design reminiscent of a classic Poké Ball. All three cameras include matching straps, with the lightning bolt-shaped Pikachu strap standing out as a highlight.

In addition to the cameras, the collection offers double packs of Polaroid’s Go Color instant film, featuring Pikachu or Sylveon designs on the frames for $24.99 each. The larger Polaroid Color i-Type instant film, which showcases silhouettes of various Pokémon, is available for $22.99, though it includes fewer exposures. The protective plastic cards that are ejected when loading a new film pack will also feature different Pokémon silhouettes, aiming to make them collectible rather than just disposable.

Completing the collection are accessories designed for the Go Gen 3 cameras, including a Poké Ball-themed camera case for $24.99, a shoulder strap priced at $14.99, and a $24.99 photo album, all featuring the iconic red-and-white design.
