Dune 3 Tickets Now Available, Early Access for Select Insiders

Dune: Part Three is on the horizon, with tickets now available for its December 18 release. Fans can catch it in various formats, including IMAX, 70MM, D-Box (with motion-enabled seating), Dolby, Premium Large Format, and IMAX 70MM theaters.

For those eager to see it early, “Dune Insider” screenings are set for December 14 and 15, but these tickets are flying off the shelves. I spent 30 minutes in line just to grab mine, and by the time I got through, most seats were already taken. This announcement coincided with the release of a new mini-trailer featuring Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), Chani (Zendaya), and Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh) gearing up for an epic galactic conflict.

This news follows the IMAX success of The Odyssey, which became the highest-grossing film in that format. Shortly after, Spider-Man: Brand New Day continued the trend with impressive box office numbers. Like The Odyssey, Dune: Part Three will also be shown in the rare 70MM IMAX format, available in only 34 theaters across the U.S. Those who experienced The Odyssey in this format may have caught an exclusive early glimpse of Part Three, featuring a breathtaking battle scene reminiscent of D-Day but with a sci-fi twist.

Director Denis Villeneuve has confirmed that Dune: Part Three will be his final installment in the Dune saga. This film will adapt Dune Messiah, the second book in Frank Herbert’s iconic sci-fi series, set years later amidst a devastating conflict.

Villeneuve collaborated on the screenplay with renowned author Brian K. Vaughan (known for Y: The Last Man, Ex Machina, and Saga). Hans Zimmer returns to create the score, while Linus Sandgren (La La Land, First Man, Wuthering Heights) steps in as cinematographer, taking over from Greig Fraser.

Dune: Part Three is poised to solidify 2026 as a resurgence year for the film industry. Both The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day have surpassed a billion dollars globally, contributing to the largest single weekend in domestic box office history. This year is on track to be the first since 2019 to exceed $10 billion domestically. Part Three will hit theaters on the same day as Avengers: Doomsday, setting the stage for another potential box office surge this December.

It looks like Chani will have a significantly larger role, among other changes.
