BGMI International Cup 2026 Announced — Asia’s Best Teams Are Coming to India

KRAFTON India has officially confirmed the BGMI International Cup 2026, and it is shaping up to be the single biggest BGMI event ever hosted on Indian soil. The tournament will bring top teams from across Asia — including squads from Southeast Asia, South Korea, and Central Asia — to compete against India’s best BGMI sides for a ₹1 crore prize pool. It is the first time India has hosted an international BGMI team competition of this scale, and the announcement has sent the domestic esports community into genuine excitement.

What the Tournament Looks Like

The BGMI International Cup is part of KRAFTON India’s expanded second-half 2026 esports roadmap, which also includes the BGMI Showdown — another ₹1 crore event targeting the domestic top tier. Together, BMIC and BMSD represent ₹2 crore in combined prize money across the second half of the year, doubling the competitive purse available to Indian BGMI players compared to the same period in 2025. The venue for BMIC has been indicated as Mumbai, though KRAFTON India has not yet made a formal venue announcement.

The format will pit India’s strongest domestic squads against invited international teams operating on the global PUBG Mobile client — the same version of the game used at tournaments like the PUBG Mobile World Cup at EWC 2026. This cross-client competition is significant, as it gives Indian players structured exposure to the playstyles, rotation strategies, and aggression levels they would face if they qualify for global events.

Why This Is a Turning Point for Indian Mobile Esports

The timing of BMIC could not be better. GodLike Esports and iQOO Orangutan have just returned from the PUBG Mobile World Cup Grand Finals in Paris — the first time Indian teams ever reached that stage — carrying firsthand experience of what top international competition looks like. Hosting an international field in India now gives the broader domestic ecosystem a chance to measure itself against that same calibre of competition without travelling abroad. With ENC 2026 in Riyadh in November also on the horizon, the BGMI International Cup is a critical stepping stone in India’s preparation for the global stage.
