Amazon Fire TV Devices to Receive Complimentary Alexa Plus Upgrade

Amazon is rolling out Alexa Plus for free to Fire TV device users in the US. Starting today, anyone with an Amazon Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, Amazon Ember smart TV, or compatible TVs from brands like Panasonic and Hisense can enjoy the enhanced conversational AI assistant.

Previously, access to Alexa Plus was limited to Fire TV users with a Prime or Alexa Plus subscription. Now, all users can benefit from Alexa Plus, which offers personalized movie recommendations based on your mood, helps you jump to specific scenes, and answers questions about what’s happening on screen. It also integrates with your smart home devices, enabling control over lighting, door locks, camera feeds, and more.

Amazon will automatically upgrade all Fire TV owners to Alexa Plus and mentions that “additional devices and regions may be added over time.”
