Microsoft and Discord Face Subpoenas in GTA VI Gameplay Leak Investigation

In light of recent video leaks related to Grand Theft Auto VI, Take-Two Interactive has issued subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord, targeting content that allegedly violates the game’s copyrights. According to the subpoenas filed on Thursday, Take-Two claims that the copyrighted material encompasses “audiovisual content, artwork, images, dialogue, or other creative elements” and aims to identify those responsible for the infringement. Microsoft and Discord have until September 4th to provide the requested information.

The leaked footage, marked by a source known as “CyberLeek,” features what seems to be GTA VI’s protagonist, Jason Duval, engaging in various activities such as driving, piloting an airplane, using a taser, and attacking an NPC with a wrench. One notable clip shows the player spelling out “LEEK” by shooting holes in a wall.

As of now, neither Discord nor Microsoft has responded to requests for comment. These leaks have surfaced just ahead of Rockstar’s highly anticipated extended preview of the game, which is set to air on Netflix on August 27th, with the full game expected to launch on November 19th.
