Naughty Dog Welcomes Uncharted Veteran to Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet Team
Naughty Dog first teased its upcoming title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, nearly two years ago during the 2024 Game Awards. Since then, the studio has kept a low profile, but recent updates suggest the game is gaining momentum. A familiar voice from some of Naughty Dog’s most iconic titles has joined the cast of Intergalactic.
Actor Robin Atkin Downes took to his X account on August 20 to announce his participation in the project, stating, “I’ve been keeping this one quiet for a while.” His post included a lighthearted video of him in a motion capture suit, set to the tune of the Baha Men’s “Who Let the Dogs Out.”
Fans of Naughty Dog will likely recognize Downes, who has a long-standing collaboration with the studio. He first appeared in 2007’s Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune as the antagonist Atoq Navarro. His roles continued in Uncharted 2 as Tenzin, Uncharted 3 as Talbot, and in Uncharted: Golden Abyss as Vincent Perez (remember the PlayStation Vita?). He also voiced Robert in The Last of Us and Hector Alcazar in Uncharted 4. Given his history of playing villains, could this hint at his character in Intergalactic?
Downes joins a cast that features Tati Gabrielle as Jordan, the game’s main character. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will also include Kumail Nanjiani, Tony Dalton, Ashley Scott, and Troy Baker. While specifics are still scarce, director Neil Druckmann has mentioned that the story revolves around a bounty hunter named Jordan who crash-lands on a planet dominated by a sci-fi religion. Unlike many of Naughty Dog’s previous titles, which emphasize gunplay, Intergalactic appears to lean more towards hack-and-slash gameplay, drawing some inspiration from Elden Ring.
Is Neil Druckmann subtly hinting at the potential for The Last of Us 3?
