Where’s My Son, Lifeweaver from Overwatch?
It’s been a tough day, Blizzard. After battling through The Horrors, I usually unwind with a game of Overwatch, a title that has always been a source of joy for me. However, after the recent nerf to my favorite character, Lifeweaver, which allows reckless tanks and damage dealers to cancel his crucial Life Grip ability, it feels like he’s been completely sidelined.
If you jump into Overwatch right now, you’ll notice that Niran “Lifeweaver” Pruksamanee is virtually absent. He’s missing from the hero select screen, and you can’t even find him in the practice range. The reason for this is still a mystery. Blizzard hasn’t provided any official word yet. Is there a critical bug affecting his abilities? Are they removing the ability to cancel his Life Grip because it disrupts gameplay? The answers remain elusive! We’ve reached out for clarification and will update if we receive any information.

Update: 8/21/26, 4:25 p.m. ET: Blizzard has issued a memo in-game regarding the situation, but it doesn’t provide an estimated time for his return:
Lifeweaver has been removed from the active roster due to an identified gameplay issue. The team is investigating the cause and working on a fix. The hero will return to the game once stability and competitive integrity are fully restored.
