One Piece Card Game Teams Up with Renowned Final Fantasy Artist

While it may not be a full-blown collaboration like some other franchises, the One Piece Card Game is gearing up for something special this November. A new booster pack is set to launch, featuring artwork by Yoshitaka Amano, a legendary artist known for his work on the Final Fantasy series.

During One Piece Day ’26 this weekend, the spotlight was on exciting announcements, including new One Piece movies and fresh cast members for the upcoming season of the live-action series. The One Piece Card Game also had its share of news, showcasing several card previews from Booster Pack Vol. 18, which is scheduled for release in November 2026. Among the standout cards are fresh designs for Franky, Nico Robin, and others, but the real gems are the new Loki and Shamrock cards illustrated by Amano.

Amano’s legacy in anime and gaming is well-established, particularly for his iconic contributions to the early Final Fantasy titles. His distinctive artwork and character designs have left a lasting impact, and he continues to collaborate with Square Enix on logo designs for new entries in the franchise. In 2025, he even created artwork for crossover cards in another popular trading card game.

His involvement in the One Piece Card Game marks his continued interest in the trading card genre, bringing a unique artistic flair to characters like Loki and Shamrock, distinct from Eiichiro Oda’s original style.

Booster Pack Vol. 18 of the One Piece Card Game will start appearing in stores this November. Let’s hope that scalpers don’t make it too difficult to snag these Yoshitaka Amano cards, especially since Bandai Namco has recently taken steps to address scalping issues in Japan. They plan to implement a facial recognition system in stores to help combat this problem.
