Day 4 Without Lifeweaver in Overwatch: My Senses Are Starting to Fade!

On Friday, Lifeweaver, the flower-slinging support hero from Overwatch, vanished from the game. Players can’t select him in matches, view his cosmetics in the hero gallery, or even see him in pre-match stats when teammates check hero levels. The reason? An “identified gameplay issue,” according to Blizzard, who promises he’ll be back once a fix is implemented. This unexpected absence left many Lifeweaver mains struggling through the weekend without their beloved healer, and it’s been a tough adjustment.

I usually queue for all roles in Overwatch, so I have a roster of heroes to choose from while waiting for Niran’s return. Still, it stings to land in support only to have to pick someone else when all I want is to shower healing flowers from the high ground. Watching my tank, whether it’s Doomfist or Reinhardt, overextend without my viney leash to pull them back is frustrating. Thankfully, I’m not alone in this. With Lifeweaver gone, fellow mains are coping with humor.

One of the wildest outcomes of Lifeweaver’s sudden removal was that some players found themselves without access to him mid-competitive matches, forcing them to adapt on the fly. Imagine the shock of facing a hero select screen devoid of his familiar smile and cheeky smirk, with no explanation for his abrupt disappearance.

While Blizzard hasn’t detailed the specific bug that led to Lifeweaver’s removal, speculation suggests it might relate to a glitch where his Petal Platform could push Jetpack Cat out of the map if placed incorrectly.

Now it’s Monday, and my favorite healer is still MIA. Until he returns, I’ll be spending more time with Mizuki and Brigitte.
