Marvel Tōkon Developers Acknowledge Difficulties in Rebuilding Player Trust After PC Launch Issues
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Soul has reportedly seen stronger sales on PlayStation 5 compared to PC, but the game has been plagued by negative feedback regarding its Steam version since the beta phase. While developer Arc System Works has released updates that players on PC claim have improved performance, many have already moved on due to the initial issues. The team is committed to the game’s future but recognizes the need to rebuild trust with the player community.
In a recent interview, Tōkon producer Takeshi Yamanaka discussed the game’s early reception. He mentioned that while there has been significant engagement since the launch on August 6, restoring the connection with the PC community will be a continuous effort.
“It’s an extremely challenging task that we need to undertake, and we sincerely want to put all of our effort into creating an environment where players can enjoy this game that we’ve worked so hard on. We are confident that the game itself will be really fun for them,” he stated.
Yamanaka also expressed regret to PC players who faced performance issues at launch, emphasizing that the team is tackling these problems directly to enhance the gaming experience.
“I feel that is the most we can do,” he said. “The team will continue to work together to provide a game that players can enjoy even more than the initial version. All we can do is our best and hope that sentiment reaches the player base.”
Many of Tōkon’s performance issues on PC appear to be linked to its high system demands, consuming a significant amount of memory just to run. Some fans even reported that pirated versions of the game performed better, as they lack certain backend systems present in the official release. It’s crucial for Arc System Works to resolve these issues, or it could spell a tough year ahead for fighting games.
