Nodus Fall: A Fusion of Monster Hunter and Elden Ring Awaits
HoYoverse has made a name for itself in the anime RPG scene over the past five years, but it’s now venturing into new territory. At Gamescom ONL 2026, the studio unveiled Nodus Fall, a co-op action game that seems to blend elements reminiscent of Elden Ring and Monster Hunter.
As with many of HoYoverse’s titles, Nodus Fall is rich in lore, as hinted at in the trailer. While it features a lot of grand names and fantasy themes, the specifics are a bit vague. The central premise suggests that the gods have vanished, leaving the Weavers to harness divine power to “sunder the dread Nodus,” though the exact meaning remains unclear.
The trailer showcases a variety of striking visuals, including massive trolls working at colossal anvils, winged tigers conjuring storms, and a dark angel with rot-covered wings that evokes comparisons to Malenia. Players can expect dragons, desolate landscapes, imposing armor, and an array of formidable weapons, including spears of holy light—though there’s no sign of a Miquella counterpart here. The imagery is notably darker than what fans typically associate with HoYoverse, which is a shift that feels less surprising given the studio’s recent announcements.
In the last year, HoYoverse has revealed two other projects that diverge from their established style: Petit Planet, a charming farming simulator, and Varsapura, which appears to have more in common with GTA than their usual offerings.
No additional information about Nodus Fall was provided during Gamescom, and there’s currently no release date or beta test timeline available.
