Pragmata Confirmed as a Mega Man Game at Last

A long-standing rumor about Capcom has finally been confirmed — sort of. Pragmata is not a hidden Mega Man title, but Capcom is introducing a Mega Man skin for the game as part of its sci-fi adventure.

This announcement came during a recent event, following a new trailer for Mega Man: Dual Override. Capcom revealed that a Mega Man costume is “coming soon” to Pragmata, although details on the release date and how players can acquire the skin are still under wraps.

Since Pragmata was first unveiled in 2020, fans have speculated about a potential connection to Mega Man. This theory gained traction due to the game’s lunar environment, its emphasis on robots and AI, and the design of Diana, an android character who sports a blue jacket reminiscent of Mega Man’s arm cannon.

Capcom has consistently denied any link between the two. In 2025, Pragmata producer Naoto Oyama stated that the game “is not a Mega Man game” and emphasized that it is a completely new IP from Capcom. However, the company played into the speculation with an April Fools’ video featuring protagonist Hugh in a detailed Mega Man costume.

What started as a joke has now become a reality in Pragmata. While the skin doesn’t alter the game’s narrative or turn it into a Mega Man adventure, it allows players to dress Hugh as Capcom’s legendary robot hero.

The Mega Man skin was announced alongside a new trailer for Mega Man: Dual Override, marking Capcom’s first mainline Mega Man game since 2018’s Mega Man 11.

The trailer showcased more of the game’s 2D side-scrolling action and introduced a new boss named Twinkle Girl. It also hinted at new gameplay mechanics, including what seems to be a transformation or upgrade for Mega Man’s armor.

Mega Man: Dual Override is set to launch in 2027 across various gaming platforms, though a specific release date has yet to be revealed.

Capcom’s shooter is the second greatest lunar achievement of 2026.
