Modern Warfare 4 Team Vows to Fix Captain Price’s Hairline Issues

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 kicked off a brief early access phase this week, and as expected, a few players voiced their concerns about map sizes, movement speeds, and spawn placements. You know the drill—classic Call of Duty balance issues. Overall, though, most players seem to be enjoying MW4. However, there’s one particular issue that’s stirred up quite a bit of chatter, and it’s not about gameplay mechanics or weapon stats. It’s about our old friend Captain Price, who appears to have had a bit of a hair disaster.

For those who might not know, Price has been a prominent figure in several Call of Duty titles and has even been a playable character in a few. No matter his role, he’s always had a full head of hair (even if it’s sometimes tucked under a big hat).

He’s meant to look like this in MW4, too. Check it out:

But it seems something went awry between Modern Warfare 3 and 4, and now Price’s hairline is looking less than stellar:

Yikes!

Infinity Ward quickly acknowledged the issue and promised to fix his hair, even adding it as a dedicated card on their project management board. They explained that this unfortunate haircut only shows up when playing on the lowest graphics settings. Other players chimed in with screenshots of Price sporting his usual hairstyle, with one quipping, “What in the 1050 TI is this?”

Hello! We’re aware of an issue with Price’s hair not appearing correctly when viewed at the lowest level of detail. The team will be addressing it in a future update.

Ultimately this will not be an issue if players meet our recommended specs.

What in the 1050 TI is this? Whoever took that screenshot got the game at ultra low, ultra performance, 11% resolution.

The team’s tweet, however, couldn’t keep up with the flood of memes poking fun at Price’s unfortunate hairstyle:

That ain’t Captain Price, that’s Lieutenant Cost.

We can only hope Captain Price gets a trip to the barber before the open beta launches this weekend. After all those years of wearing hats and bulky tactical helmets, maybe it’s finally time for him to embrace the bald look.
