The Witcher 3’s acclaimed 10/10 DLC is now available for free ahead of its remaster and new content.

If you’ve been holding off on diving into The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s DLC for the past 11 years, CD Projekt Red has a fantastic surprise in store for you. Not only is there a new (and possibly free) Remastered version of the game packed with quality-of-life enhancements, but both of the acclaimed expansions are now available at no cost.

Typically, the Blood and Wine DLC adds a substantial amount of gameplay for $19.99, while the first expansion, Hearts of Stone, offers a smaller but still rich experience for $9.99. Considering the existing 16 pieces of free DLC and the recent next-gen updates, those prices were already a steal. But free? That’s unbeatable.

If you haven’t yet explored the DLC, timing could be a bit tricky. While the expansions are free now, the Remastered version of The Witcher 3 is set to launch on September 29. This new edition promises a host of improvements, including upgraded visuals, with CD Projekt Red claiming Geralt has “never looked better.” If you jump in now, you won’t have to wait, but if you prefer the ultimate experience, the Remastered version is the way to go.

The Witcher 3 Remastered introduces various combat enhancements, improved traversal mechanics, and better mount handling. Monsters have received AI upgrades, and the entire skill tree has been overhauled. The game’s photo mode has been expanded, and a new tutorial has been added. Looting and quest tracking have also been revamped. The trailer that premiered at Gamescom showcases just how much effort has gone into this enhanced version, making the fact that much of it is free even more impressive. Adding free DLC to the mix is just the icing on the cake.

Fans are in disbelief over this announcement. “Holy FKN shit,” one fan exclaimed on Reddit. “Free upgrade in today’s gaming world is wild,” another commented on YouTube.

To claim the free DLC, just head to your platform’s digital storefront—unless you’re on Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, while other platforms enjoy these free additions, the Switch version won’t be receiving the same treatment. However, there is a silver lining for Nintendo fans: a native version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered will soon be available on Nintendo Switch 2, along with updates for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.

CD Projekt Red has also teased what to expect from the upcoming Witcher 3 DLC, Songs From The Past.
