Xbox unveils $899 hardware pre-orders for 25th anniversary collection, featuring an unexpected bonus.

To celebrate Xbox’s 25th anniversary, Microsoft is launching a limited-edition console that pays homage to the brand’s origins. The Xbox Series X25 edition features a striking “translucent OG Green design” and will be individually numbered, but it comes with a hefty price tag of $899.99, reflecting its exclusivity. Pre-orders are now open.

For fans who may not want to splurge on the console, there’s also the X25 Special Edition Xbox wireless controller available for $79.99.

The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console is currently available for pre-order exclusively for “some of Xbox’s most dedicated fans” through a special email invitation. General pre-orders will kick off on Thursday, Aug. 27, at 7 a.m. PDT / 10 a.m. EDT. This console boasts 1 TB of storage and features a unique laser engraving for each unit.

While the price of the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition is $100 more than the standard Xbox Series X, which recently increased to $799.99, Microsoft is sweetening the deal by including a complimentary game. Each console comes with a full-game download of Halo: Campaign Evolved, valued at $49.99, which is also available through an Xbox Game Pass subscription.

The Xbox 25th anniversary collection is set to launch on Nov. 13, with pre-orders limited to one console per customer.

Additionally, fans can pre-order a special edition wireless controller to commemorate the original Xbox. This controller features the same translucent green design, along with the classic Xbox logo and the original ABXY button colors. The left and right bumpers are designed in white and green plastic, reminiscent of the original Xbox controller’s black and white buttons.

The $79.99 Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition will be released on Oct. 20, just in time for the anniversary celebration.
