Apple set to unveil new iPhone models at September event

Apple’s upcoming launch event is scheduled for September 9th at 1 PM ET, featuring the intriguing tagline “Surprise and shine.” Invitations were sent out recently, and the event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, with a livestream available on Apple’s website.

This September showcase could be significant, as there are strong indications that Apple might finally unveil the much-anticipated foldable iPhone. A leaked image of a dummy unit suggests that the foldable design may resemble the wide form factor seen in Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8, which has been described as feeling “like the future.”

In addition to the foldable, Apple is expected to refresh its Pro and Pro Max models, although these updates are rumored to be more iterative rather than a complete redesign like last year’s offerings. If history is any guide, they will likely be named the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Interestingly, reports suggest that the base model iPhone 18 will not be revealed at this event and is instead slated for a launch next year. Looking ahead to 2027, there are also rumors of an iPhone 18e and a second-generation iPhone Air in the pipeline.

This event marks a new chapter for Apple, as it will be the first under the leadership of John Ternus, who previously served as the hardware chief and officially takes over as CEO from Tim Cook on September 1st.
