Microsoft’s 25th Anniversary Xbox Priced at $899

The highly anticipated translucent green Xbox has finally been priced. Preorders kick off on August 27th at 10 AM ET / 7 AM PT, with Microsoft offering early access preorder emails to “some of XBOX’s most dedicated fans” starting today.

This special edition will hit the shelves on November 13th, accompanied by a controller that sports the same nostalgic “OG Green” color scheme as the original translucent Xbox. Each console will come with a full-game download of Halo: Campaign Evolved, and during Gamescom, it was revealed that every unit will be laser-etched and numbered. Beneath its unique exterior, it’s essentially an Xbox Series X featuring 1TB of storage.

The special-edition controller can also be pre-ordered separately for $79, launching on October 20th.

This console was first unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase in June, where Xbox CEO Asha Sharma surprised fans at the Xbox FanFest event by announcing that anyone sporting a “fan” badge would receive one of the consoles for free.

In addition to the console, Microsoft has rolled out a collection of limited-edition accessories to match, including an “OG Green” keyboard, mouse, earbuds, and mobile controllers.
