Ubisoft’s Slip Sparks Speculation About Upcoming Nintendo Direct Date

Fans eager for updates on the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time might not have to wait much longer, especially if the speculation surrounding a recent leak from Ubisoft holds any truth regarding the next Nintendo Direct.

This buzz began with a separate leak concerning Just Dance: Decades of Hits. Although this latest installment in the Just Dance series was announced back in July, the initial reveal lacked substantial details, including a sneak peek at the tracklist. Since then, various assets related to the game have surfaced online, following a familiar pattern for the franchise. Retailer leaks have provided new insights, and dataminers have dug deeper, uncovering visual assets and full tracks.

In light of these leaks, Ubisoft released a statement:

“Hello Dancers, we are sharing an important message with you today.”

“While we understand this may generate excitement within the community, we believe every player deserves to discover Decades of Hits as it’s truly meant to be experienced: with the full context and care that have gone into its creation.

“We’re committed to sharing the complete picture with you on September 10, and we sincerely thank you for your patience and continued support in the meantime.”

The mention of September 10 has fans buzzing. Traditionally, Ubisoft has unveiled its annual Just Dance title during its Ubisoft Forward event at E3, but with E3’s absence, the company has sought alternative platforms. Recently, this has included Nintendo Directs. Additionally, the Tokyo Game Show kicks off on September 17, and Nintendo often schedules a Direct just before such events, making the timing seem plausible.

However, there’s no concrete evidence confirming that a Direct is imminent. While fans have become adept at spotting Nintendo’s patterns, it’s just as likely that this is another case of the community getting excited over speculation. If a Direct does happen, we might finally catch a glimpse of the Ocarina of Time remake, possibly even a release date. There’s also hope for a release date for The Duskbloods.

Meanwhile, the Just Dance community is expressing frustration, as they seem weary of annual leaks overshadowing Ubisoft’s major announcements time and again.
