GTA 6 Enthusiast Discovers Real-Life Spot for Jason and Lucia’s Apartment
A keen-eyed Grand Theft Auto 6 enthusiast believes they’ve pinpointed the real-world inspiration for Jason and Lucia’s apartment, which was recently showcased in the Official Extended Gameplay reveal. The twist? The building in question was demolished in 2023, leaving many scratching their heads over how this fan made the connection.
According to an outlet, the fan, known as prettyboycuh on Instagram, shared a video on August 28, just a day after the gameplay reveal, detailing his findings. In the video, he draws a striking comparison between the apartment seen at the 6:20 mark in the trailer and a similar building, noting the same off-pink hue and a comparable parking lot. Just across the street, he even spotted a near-identical version of the light-blue Quantum on the Bay Condominium located on Bayshore Drive in Miami, Florida.
But here’s the kicker: how did he figure this out? The apartment building is no longer standing. In his video, prettyboycuh explains that he had to sift through Google Maps’ historical images, going all the way back to 2013 to find a snapshot of the now-gone structure. He mentioned that he got the idea because Rockstar Games began developing the game in 2013, showcasing the kind of analytical thinking that Grand Theft Auto fans are known for. It’s both impressive and a little intimidating to see such dedication.
While the side-by-side comparison is compelling, it does start to falter when you trace the route Jason drives from the apartment on Google Maps. It quickly becomes clear that Rockstar has taken some creative liberties with Miami’s road layout, which is understandable given the need to condense the map’s size.
Still, prettyboycuh’s theory holds water. It’s unfortunate that fans can’t visit the real-life location anymore, but perhaps the owners of the vacant lot where it once stood could capitalize on this newfound interest. A GTA-themed amusement park, anyone?
