Release Date Announced for Warrior Cats Game Inspired by Popular YA Series

Trailmark Games has revealed that fans will soon be able to dive into Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest, launching in less than two months on October 23. This turn-based RPG draws inspiration from the beloved young adult book series and promises an exciting adventure.

The announcement came with a new trailer shared on the developer’s official YouTube channel. Initially unveiled in August, Clans of the Forest marks the first video game set in the Warrior Cats universe. With a short wait from announcement to release, fans won’t have to endure a long buildup.

In Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest, players will embark on an original story featuring both new and familiar characters. You’ll have the chance to customize your own cat and select from four clans, each with its own unique campaign. This setup mirrors the intricate storytelling found in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Alongside turn-based combat, the game will incorporate hunting and crafting mechanics. Players can also look forward to the boss-rush Defender mode and the asynchronous multiplayer Skirmish mode for added fun.

The Warrior Cats series was originally created by Victoria Holmes and has expanded significantly since the release of the first book, Into the Wild, in 2003. With over fifty mainline books and numerous spin-offs penned by various authors under the Erin Hunter name, the franchise continues to thrive. Additionally, an animated series is in development by Coolabi Group and Tencent Video, with distribution rights recently acquired for a 2028 release.

Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest will be available on October 23 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
