Cyberpunk 2077 is set to exit Xbox Game Pass this month.
Xbox has revealed the latest games set to exit Game Pass. On September 15, a total of 10 titles will be removed, with the standout being Cyberpunk 2077, the once-troubled and now thriving sci-fi RPG from CD Projekt Red.
Cyberpunk 2077 joined the service in March, meaning it will have been available for just six months. Last month, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was also taken off Game Pass, likely to encourage players to buy the upcoming remaster launching on September 29. While the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 is still a ways off, fans can look forward to the second season of the acclaimed Edgerunners anime, debuting on October 20 exclusively on Netflix, which could reignite interest in the game that CD Projekt Red will want to leverage.
In addition to Cyberpunk 2077, nine other games will be leaving Game Pass on September 15. Among them is the roguelike Metroidvania Dead Cells, a significant loss for the service and a standout title in its genre since its release in 2018. Fans of Dead Cells should also keep an eye on developer Evil Empire’s upcoming game, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, set to launch on October 15. Additionally, Spiritfarer, a touching indie game about guiding the recently departed to the afterlife, is another title worth experiencing before it leaves.
On the flip side, Game Pass will welcome seven new titles. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will join the lineup on September 8, along with Shelldiver, Speedrunners 2: King of Speed, The Royal Writ, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage, and RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
