Avengers: Secret Wars Could Introduce a Key Character to the MCU
Avengers: Doomsday is just around the corner, but the excitement doesn’t stop there—filming for 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars is currently underway in England, promising another star-studded cast. While the complete lineup remains under wraps to keep potential spoilers from Doomsday under control, one fresh face joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Secret Wars is Noah Jupe, known for his role in A Quiet Place. Reports suggest he will take on a “key” role in the film.
Details about Jupe’s character are still a mystery, and there’s been no official word from Marvel. However, fans are already buzzing with theories, and many believe he might portray an older version of Franklin Richards, the son of Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman.
Franklin first appeared in Fantastic Four: First Steps as a baby, and even before his birth, the cosmic entity Galactus sought to trade him for the safety of Earth. Comic book enthusiasts know that Galactus had a compelling reason for this demand. At his most powerful, Franklin can manipulate reality itself, and we catch a glimpse of his abilities in the film when he revives his mother after a climactic battle. In a post-credits scene, we see Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., showing interest in the young Franklin when he’s just four years old.
Given that the Secret Wars comic revolves around the multiverse being reshaped, it makes sense for Doctor Doom to be eyeing a hero with Franklin’s extraordinary powers. Jupe could convincingly portray the son of Pedro Pascal’s Mister Fantastic, lending credibility to the theory that he’s playing an older Franklin. But that’s not the only speculation circulating among fans.
Another theory suggests that Jupe could embody the Beyonder, a powerful entity and antagonist in the Secret Wars comics, known for his ability to reshape the universe at will. While it seems unlikely that Jupe would overshadow Downey Jr. as the main villain, the Beyonder’s significant role in the storyline makes it plausible that he could emerge as a hidden threat beneath Doctor Doom’s schemes.
If either of these theories holds water, Jupe is set to bring a transformative character to life on screen. We might get a clearer picture of his role when Doomsday hits theaters on December 18.
