Surprise Release: Prime Video’s Fallout Makes a Comeback This Week

The wasteland is about to become even more exciting for gamers. Stern Pinball has started to tease its upcoming major pinball machine, and fans won’t have to wait long for the big reveal.

On Tuesday, Stern dropped two short teaser trailers hinting at a connection to Fallout, specifically the adaptation of the popular sci-fi franchise from a well-known streaming service. One teaser showcases a Pip-Boy, while the other features a massive Vault door swinging open. Both trailers point to September 3, when Stern promises to unveil more details about this new machine.

While the teasers keep most specifics under wraps, they do raise a lot of questions about what Stern has in store. Recent leaks and speculation had already suggested that Fallout would be the focus of Stern’s next big release, making today’s teasers a confirmation of what many fans were hoping for.

As of now, Stern hasn’t disclosed any information regarding pricing, editions, gameplay features, or which specific version of the Fallout universe the pinball machine will draw from. All will be revealed just ahead of PAX West.

The Fallout franchise is riding high, largely due to the success of the television adaptation. The second season took Lucy MacLean and the Ghoul into the Mojave Wasteland and New Vegas, enriching the live-action narrative while incorporating more beloved elements from the games.

Production for Season 3 is already underway, with returning stars like Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins, alongside newcomers such as Aaron Paul, Emily Mortimer, Manny Jacinto, and Thomasin McKenzie. A premiere date has yet to be announced, but this new season is expected to further expand the Fallout universe, following Lucy and the Ghoul as they venture beyond New Vegas into new territories, including Colorado.

On the gaming front, there’s a lot happening as well. The studio behind the franchise has confirmed that Fallout 5 is in preproduction, although it’s a long-term project that will come after The Elder Scrolls 6. Additionally, remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are in the works, and there’s collaboration with another studio on a new Fallout project.

In short, Stern’s timing is spot on. Fallout is currently at the crossroads of gaming, television, and a rapidly growing fanbase, providing Stern with a wealth of iconic imagery, characters, and chaotic Wasteland vibes to draw from.

We’ll find out exactly what Stern has been crafting on September 3.
