A Guide to Completing “Where Loyalty Lies” in The Blood of Dawnwalker

Completing Where Loyalty Lies marks your first major step in aligning with a faction in Blood of Dawnwalker. Up until now, you’ve likely been tackling Brencis on your own, perhaps even choosing to free Mertout out of sheer goodwill. However, to officially join the Manumits, you’ll need to demonstrate your dedication by increasing your infamy—a system you might not have engaged with much until now.

To join the Manumits, you must elevate your infamy level to Notorious, which is the fourth (IV) tier on the court’s infamy scale, visible in the ‘Court’ tab of the menu. The most effective way to boost your infamy is through a combination of tactics: take down Soldier Camps in Ambrus’s territories to unlock new abilities, and simultaneously disrupt some of Ambrus’s operations to provoke him, leading to a significant infamy gain. Alternatively, you could venture into a different region and provoke one of the other boyars, though be prepared for tougher enemies there.

Once you achieve Notorious infamy, make your way to Svartrau and meet with Sara to advance the Manumit questline.
