T1 Faker Makes Waves in TCG Scene with $50K Card Purchase
Riftbound is making waves in the trading card game scene this week, following the release of a highly sought-after bundle that has sold out and is now fetching nearly 20 times its original price on the resale market. The Riftbound x T1 2025 Worlds Champion Signature Edition began shipping recently, and many of these bundles have already been flipped on platforms like eBay, with some auctions reaching over $7,000.
While most sets are selling for between $5,000 and $6,000, some resellers are aiming even higher, especially for a serial-numbered card from the Riftbound bundle that features the signature of T1 player Faker. Several sellers are listing this card for an astonishing $50,000.
The Riftbound x T1 2025 Worlds Champion Signature Edition bundle celebrates T1’s victory at Worlds 2025 and includes five League of Legends Champions, each adorned with new artwork and a distinctive card frame. Riot has stated that each card was chosen by a member of the winning T1 team. The limited-edition cards are gold-foiled and serialized, with one card in each set randomly featuring a gold-stamped signature from the player.
The set includes the following cards: Ambessa, The Wolf (Doran); Galio, Indefatigable (Faker); Miss Fortune, Buccaneer (Gumayusi); Seraphine, Not Alone (Keria); and Xin Zhao, Vigilant (Oner). Unsurprisingly, Faker, T1’s most popular and highest-earning player, is driving the highest prices on the resale market, with multiple sellers listing bundles that include his gold-stamped signature for tens of thousands of dollars.
For context, the standard version of the Galio, Indefatigable Riftbound card is priced around $0.26, according to market data.
Riot has confirmed that only 10,125 copies of the Riftbound x T1 2025 Worlds Champion Signature Edition set were produced in English. With a one-in-five chance of obtaining a gold-stamped Faker card, only 2,025 sets will feature his signature. While it seems that no one has yet committed to spending $50,000 (or even $30,000) on a Faker-signed card, the high-end auctions are attracting plenty of attention from curious onlookers eager to see what sells and for how much.
In the past year, some Riftbound cards have sold for as much as $39,000.
Riot officially launched Riftbound in October 2025, introducing a variety of decks and booster boxes. The company quickly encountered the same challenges as The Pokémon Company, with sets selling out and being scalped by speculators. To combat this, Riot implemented measures such as requiring a Riot ID and limiting purchases to one set per print run. Nevertheless, the limited availability has attracted buyers looking to profit from rarity, and it appears that some scalpers are reaping significant rewards.
It will be interesting to see how the Riftbound x T1 2025 Worlds Champion Signature Edition bundle performs as the initial excitement begins to fade.
Riftbound arguably offers the best pack-opening experience among trading card games.
