The ultimate amiibo for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom arrives this September.
In May, to celebrate the third anniversary of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a new amiibo figure was announced, set to launch this month. This might just be the standout figurine from the game. Unless there are surprise amiibo announcements during this week’s Zelda-themed Nintendo Direct, it’s a strong contender for Amiibo of the Year.
The new Mineru’s Construct amiibo will hit shelves on September 17. This sizable figure depicts the ancient Zonai robot originally utilized by the Sage of Spirit, Mineru, and later rebuilt and controlled by Link as the game progresses.
One of the coolest features is its fully articulated, posable arms! Nintendo encourages players to experiment with its movement, suggesting you find a pose that suits your style.
As with previous amiibo, tapping the Mineru’s Construct on your Switch’s NFC reader will grant you useful in-game items. Notably, there’s a chance to unlock a special fabric for Link’s paraglider that features a Mineru’s Construct design with glow-in-the-dark elements.
It’s intriguing that Nintendo is releasing the Mineru’s Construct amiibo nearly three years after the game’s launch (and a year after the Switch 2 version of Tears of the Kingdom). Interestingly, the existence of the Construct could be seen as a late-game spoiler for the storyline.
Additionally, Nintendo is set to release a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time later this year and is finally bringing the franchise to the big screen in 2027 with a live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda.
