A Surprising Sequel is on the Way for Silent Hill f
While Konami is busy exploring various unique interpretations of Silent Hill, fans can look forward to an unexpected sequel to last year’s installment. A manga spinoff of Silent Hill f is set to kick off serialization in Weekly Famitsu at the end of 2026.
The story will center around Kotoyuki, known as “the man with the fox mask,” who plays a somewhat villainous role in Silent Hill f. The narrative will unfold in two parts, with the first delving into Kotoyuki’s childhood and the origins of his iconic mask. The series will be illustrated by manga artist Ayato, with oversight from Silent Hill f writer Ryukishi07 and Konami. Ayato has already shared a key image of Kotoyuki, who has been stylized in a distinctly bishonen manner. This marks the second manga adaptation for Silent Hill f, following the first, which reinterprets the game’s storyline with a new ending crafted by Ryukishi07.
Silent Hill f launched on September 25, 2025, to acclaim, with critics highlighting its compelling storytelling, immersive atmosphere, and rich setting. It achieved over one million copies sold on its first day, making it the fastest-selling title in the franchise. This was the first Silent Hill game to break away from remakes or remasters since 2012’s Silent Hill: Downpour.
The plot follows Hinako, a high school student in 1960s Japan, as her town becomes shrouded in a mysterious fog. She soon encounters horrifying creatures entwined with blood-red spider lilies. Crafted by When They Cry author Ryukishi07, the narrative tackles themes of misogyny and societal expectations of the era, employing layers of visual metaphor to explore a particular form of “death” (which I’ll leave for you to discover). The game successfully retains the series’ hallmark elements while steering clear of the uninspired sequels that emerged after Team Silent’s initial four titles.
The revival of Silent Hill is in full swing, with several more projects on the horizon, including the upcoming spin-off Silent Hill Townfall, set to release on September 24, along with a remake of the original game from Bloober Team.
A different country, a different time period, and a more serious approach to combat.
