Wardogs Set for Console Launch Following Steam Success

The release time for Wardogs is finally here, following a series of successful beta tests and closed play sessions. To mark the launch of Wardogs in Steam Early Access, the team at Bulkhead has unveiled a launch trailer that draws inspiration from the iconic Halo 3 trailer, “Believe.”

In addition to the trailer, Wardogs now has a projected release window for consoles on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Bulkhead announced that the game is set to arrive on these platforms in 2028. While you can add it to your wishlist on both consoles now, it looks like players will have to wait a while before diving into this first-person shooter, especially if it launches later in the year. By then, we might even be on the cusp of the next generation of consoles, potentially seeing it on PlayStation 6 and Xbox’s Project Helix.

The tagline for the Wardogs launch, “play like you used to,” evokes a time when multiplayer games were social, unpredictable, and hard to put down. With the beta reaching a peak of 245,118 players, it’s clear there’s a strong demand for this FPS.

“Wardogs is ambitious, rough around the edges, and still has a long way to go, but that is exactly what Early Access should be,” said Joe Brammer, CEO at Bulkhead. “We’re putting the game in players’ hands, listening to their feedback, and taking the necessary risks to turn it into something lasting. More than anything, we want people to get online, connect with each other, and enjoy the kind of fun in an FPS that we grew up with.”
