Preorder Details for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max

The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are just around the corner. Unveiled during Apple’s September 2026 “Sunrise and Shine” event, these upgraded devices boast the powerful A20 Pro processor, enhanced GPU capabilities, and additional neural cores for AI tasks, along with notable camera improvements.

Mark your calendars for Friday, September 18th, when these phones officially launch. If you want to secure your preferred color and storage option, preordering is a smart move, and preorders are now live.

The 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 for the 256GB model, reaching up to $2,399 for the 2TB version. The larger 6.9-inch iPhone 18 Pro Max begins at $1,299 for 256GB, with the 2TB model priced at $2,499. Both models come in four stylish colors: deep black, silver, glacier, and burgundy.

Currently, the only way to preorder an unlocked version of either the Pro or Pro Max is directly from Apple. If you prefer not to pay the full price upfront, financing through Apple is available, allowing for 36 monthly payments at zero percent APR. Additionally, these new phones qualify for the recently introduced Apple Upgrade program. You can also trade in your current phone for up to $885 in credit towards the new device, with carriers offering further incentives.

Retailers like Best Buy and Walmart are currently listing only carrier-locked versions for preorder. Best Buy has the 18 Pro available through Verizon or AT&T, while the Pro Max is also tied to those carriers. Walmart offers the 18 Pro through Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, along with the Pro Max available with T-Mobile, Verizon, or AT&T.

Here’s what US carriers are offering:

* AT&T will cover the cost of an iPhone 18 Pro through billing credits over 36 months if you trade in an iPhone 14 or newer. You’ll need to sign up for the AT&T Extra plan, with slightly lower discounts for cheaper plans. These options can be found on Apple’s checkout page, where you can also pay the $99 difference between the Pro and Pro Max upfront.

* T-Mobile is providing the iPhone 18 Pro for free via bill credits when you switch your number or trade in a qualifying phone on the Experience Beyond plan. Existing customers may find the credits less generous, as only iPhone 16 and newer models qualify for the full trade-in value, but new customers will see similar benefits.

* Verizon’s offer is straightforward. The Simplicity Pro plan, costing $80 per month for those switching from another carrier, includes a free iPhone 18 Pro, with the option to upgrade after one year. As with other carriers, the “free” phone is paid off through monthly bill credits, so you’ll need to stay with Verizon for three years to receive the full value.
