Sora Joins Fortnite: Are You Gaming on Your Phone?

I dove into Fortnite for a week during the K-Pop Demon Hunters event, and it left me with such a bad taste that I haven’t touched it since. The constant influx of crossovers in every game is getting old, and Fortnite has become the prime example of corporate collaboration gone overboard. This week, characters from Kingdom Hearts are making their debut, and while it’s amusing that Epic couldn’t secure Disney’s approval for Sora’s keyblade to keep its Mickey Mouse charm from the Disney/Final Fantasy crossover, I can’t help but feel uneasy looking at this Fortnite rendition.

In general, most Fortnite characters have a slightly off appearance since they all share the same hitbox, but it’s Sora’s lifeless expression that really gets to me.

I’m already not a fan, and more Kingdom Hearts characters are set to join the fray later this week as part of the ongoing Gaming Legends season. After all the trauma Sora has faced throughout these games, it seems like he’s been through the wringer. My guy looks like he’s been lobotomized. Is it worse than Long Sonic? I’m not sure.
