Pre-orders for Zelda: Ocarina of Time Now Available for Fans

Nintendo wrapped up the gameplay reveal for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time by announcing pre-orders for exciting items like the 40th Anniversary Switch 2 console and a foil cover variant of the game. However, fans noticed the absence of the ocarina, the musical instrument central to the remake. While no price or release date was provided for this blue accessory, Nintendo has now surprised fans with a pre-order shadow drop for the Ocarina of Time.

The electric ocarina is set to launch on November 5, just a week after the game hits shelves, and will retail for $49.99. Pre-orders are available through Nintendo. Although the ocarina is an optional accessory, using it could enhance the gaming experience, allowing Link to replicate any tunes you play in real life.

Players can enjoy the ocarina in Free Play mode or choose from 12 pre-programmed songs in Auto-Play mode. Its functionality is further expanded with the Ocarina of Time’s Zelda Notes app, enabling players to save and share their own compositions via QR codes. The ocarina also features a built-in headphone jack for connecting audio devices, and when not in use, it can be displayed on a special stand.

One important detail to note is that the ocarina is not a traditional instrument; players won’t need to blow into it to produce sound. Instead, they simply press a button on the mouthpiece. Given the rapid sellouts of accessories like the Pro Controller and carrying case, snagging the ocarina could be a smart move, especially since it won’t break the bank like other items. It’s a significant upgrade from the ocarina keychain offered as a pre-order bonus.

For many fans, securing pre-orders for the Zelda Switch 2 console has been a challenge. The green and gold hardware was available for a limited time during the weekend of September 11, with notifications sent to those who downloaded the dedicated app.

Nintendo has reassured fans that pre-orders will continue to be available, and recent waves have not sold out immediately. However, Zelda enthusiasts are growing impatient. Major retailers like Amazon and Target are quickly running out of Zelda Switch 2 pre-orders, even with frequent restocks. Recently, GameStop has informed its store managers that individual locations will not be taking console pre-orders at this time.
