007 First Light’s Launch on Nintendo Switch 2 Pushed Back
007 First Light was originally slated for a simultaneous release across all platforms, but things have taken a different turn. While the game has been available since late May on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC, fans of the Nintendo Switch 2 are still left waiting. The launch for 007 First Light on Switch 2 has been postponed once again.
The new expected release for 007 First Light on Switch 2 is now set for March 2027. Although the Switch 2 may not match the power of its current-gen counterparts, it compensates with practicality and a vast library of games. However, due to its lower performance capabilities, more optimization is necessary to run demanding titles on the Switch 2 compared to Xbox and PlayStation, which often leads to later releases for this platform.
Initially, March 27, 2026, was the anticipated release date for 007 First Light across all platforms. After some development setbacks, this was pushed to May 27. Just a month before the new launch date, the Switch 2 version was delayed to “later this summer.” IO Interactive has frequently provided optimistic timelines for 007 First Light, but this eagerness has resulted in a series of delays and disappointment for fans eagerly awaiting the game.
Despite 007 First Light making an appearance during a September Nintendo Direct with a 2026 release date, it has now been officially delayed to next year.
The Switch 2 version of 007 First Light has been showcased at Gamescom and will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show. IO Interactive is actively gathering player feedback to enhance the game’s performance. The developers aim to ensure that 007 First Light delivers the best possible experience for gamers on launch day.
As it stands, 007 First Light is scheduled for March 2027, assuming no further delays occur. A specific launch date has yet to be announced.
However, it may not quite reach the heights of Hitman.
