Voicemod Launches Affordable Device for Real-Time Voice Changing on Mobile

Voicemod has unveiled a new mobile device that enhances the functionality of the Voicemod Key dongle, originally launched in late 2024 to bring real-time voice-changing technology to consoles. While the previous Voicemod Key relied on a smartphone as an interface between the mobile app and gaming consoles like Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch, the new Key Pocket allows you to modify your voice or trigger sound effects while gaming, making calls, or streaming on both Apple and Android devices.

The Voicemod Key Pocket is available as a standalone device for $99.90 or as part of a $129.90 bundle that includes the hardware and a Voicemod Pro license. The additional $30 grants you lifetime access to hundreds of voices crafted by the company, thousands created by the community, the ability to design your own custom voices, and cloud syncing across multiple platforms without needing a subscription.

The Key Pocket is compatible with Android, iOS, and iPadOS devices that have a USB-C port.

Voicemod initially ventured beyond PC gaming with the launch of Voicemod Clips on iOS and Android in 2020, but the mobile app was limited to changing voices during the recording of short video or audio clips for sharing. Due to privacy restrictions on mobile operating systems, apps were unable to modify microphone audio for use in other applications.

The Voicemod Key Pocket changes that dynamic. This compact device can attach to the back of phones or tablets that support magnetic accessories and acts as an external audio bridge. By connecting a wired or Bluetooth microphone to the Pocket, your audio is processed by Voicemod’s mobile app and then made available to other applications, such as Fortnite, Roblox, Discord, or any app used for phone or video calls, via a short USB-C cable linked to your mobile device.

With the Pro license, users gain access to over 200 voices created by Voicemod, rather than just a limited selection of rotating voices available for free, along with more than 76,000 additional community-created options. The Pocket features six programmable buttons for quickly switching between voices or triggering short soundboard clips, a dedicated mute button, and a customizable glowing LED dial for adjusting voices or volume. Like the original Voicemod Key, the Key Pocket can also serve as a voice changer for the latest consoles, including the Switch 2 and recent versions of the Meta Quest headset.
